The Golden State Warriors this season have not looked as dominant as they once were in the league. With Steph Curry not getting any younger, the team's younger players have not consistently been able to match the four-time NBA champion.
Former Mavericks forward, Chandler Parsons, on an episode of "Run It Back" posted on X on Tuesday, gave his take on what the Warriors need to become serious contenders. While he praised the team's young talents, he believes that they don't have a "number two option" to complement Steph Curry.
"To me, they (Warriors) are in the same boat at the Los Angeles Lakers. They have to be perfect, they have to be elite, they have to be perfect ... they got off to a great start and they do have the talent to win a lot of games ... but right now they don't have a number two option ... they don't have that piece to kinda Batman to Stephen Curry's Robin."

When the Dubs lost fellow Splash Bro Klay Thompson to the Mavericks, their young players were expected to come and fill in the gap. Coach Steve Kerr duly obliged and played them alongside Steph Curry, but from their recent performances, they still appear to be lacking the X-factor needed to make them contenders.
Brandin Podziemski was criticized by coach Kerr for his decision-making in critical moments. His initial response caused a frenzy but he later came out to clear the air while acknowledging the impact of Steph Curry to the team's success.
Although, there are lots of option in the trade market, the signs are that the Warriors don't want to make any move unless it's a player that can bring the X-factor to the Bay Area.
On-air host hints on the Warriors trade strategy
On-air personality Evan Giddings on "95.7 The Game Show" shared his thoughts on what Golden State is planning this current trade season. He claimed that the Dubs have a lot of options to make credible trades but they have conditions before they green-light an incoming trade.

"I don't think the Warriors think they're done, but they're not willing to cash in their chips UNLESS it's for a player that's as good, or better, than Steph Curry, currently."
The Dubs have been linked to Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler, whom Giddings listed as one of his preferred destinations. Others include Chicago Bulls' Nikola Vucevic, Washington Wizards' Kyle Kuzma, and Brooklyn Nets' Cameron Johnson.
They also have a few chips they could cash in, including some of their young players as well as a few draft picks.
