According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Phoenix will trade their unprotected first-round pick for the 2031 NBA draft for three first-round picks from Utah. While it sounds like a steal, Phoenix will receive the least favorable first-round picks.

Charania's report revealed that Phoenix will acquire the 2025 first-round pick of Cleveland/Minnesota, the 2027 first-round pick of Cleveland/Minnesota/Utah and the 2029 first-round pick of Cleveland/Minnesota/Utah.

Jimmy Butler prioritizing Phoenix Suns as trade destination

Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat seemingly aren't on good terms this season. It all started when Pat Riley asked his star forward to keep his mouth shut when Butler was trying to recover from injury during the 2024 NBA Playoffs. Riley's remarks left a sour taste in Jimmy's mouth, which resulted in the current drama both parties are dealing with.

In December, Jimmy Butler made his feelings public and let everyone know that he wanted out of Miami. This led to the Heat suspending him for seven games as they attempted to search for Butler's new home. Unfortunately for them, they had no luck in securing a deal with any team. However, it appears that if Butler had a choice, he would prefer to go to Phoenix.

According to NBA insider Brian Windhorst, Butler wants to go to the Phoenix Suns. That is the Heat forward's top priority. While getting traded to other teams is okay for Jimmy, he'd rather land in Phoenix as much as possible.
