As the NBA world congratulated LeBron James and his family after the LA Lakers drafted Bronny James on Thursday, rap star Travis Scott also hyped the father-son duo. They should become the first to take the floor next season on the same team if LeBron re-signs or extends with the Lakers and Bronny gets the nod off the bench.

Scott posted an Instagram story to shout out LeBron and Bronny.

"This what it's about," the rapper wrote.

LeBron James and Travis Scott seem to hold close connections. They've appeared together at several parties. Scott has also featured on an April 18 episode of "The Shop," a talk show produced by LeBron and business partner Maverick Carter.

Scott was also one of the marquee guests at new Lakers recruit Bronny James' 18th birthday party. He performed some of his biggest hits and danced with the father-son duo. LeBron has also attended multiple concerts by the 10x Grammy Award nominee.

In 2018, he joined Scott and Drake on stage during one of their concerts shortly after his move to the Lakers. The concert was at Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena), the team's home floor.

All signs point towards LeBron James extending with Lakers after Bronny James' addition

LeBron James is still undecided on his future. He has until Saturday to decide whether to opt into his $51.4 million player option or decline it and become an unrestricted free agent. If he intends to stay with the Lakers, James could extend his current deal after opting into the final year of his contract or sign a new deal in free agency.

James could sign up to a $164 million extension over three years if he opts in. A new contract would see him make $162 million over three years. He can negotiate a no-trade clause in an opt-out and resign scenario.

It seems like the ideal option, as he could be around with Bronny James for the next three years, at least. James can retire a Laker while playing his last season with his son.

The four-time MVP had been vocal about his wish to play with his son before hanging up his sneakers. Therefore, he couldn't have been any closer to extending his stay with the Lakers after they selected Bronny with the 55th pick.
