NBA fans reacted to this news, given Mac McClung's popularity with some of them after winning two Slam Dunk contests. Some were happy about the guard signing a new deal that will give him time in the league.
"This guy is still McClinging to a roster spot. Give him credit," one fan said, using a picture of Hubie Brown.
"Players like Mac really remind me how hard and good you have to be to make it in the league," another fan said.
"I hope he actually gets meaningful mins," another fan said.
Others noted that with the amount of guards the Magic have on the roster, it would be hard for Mac McClung to get some minutes.
"But that roster has too many good guards for him to really show out. Happy for him but how is this good for his career besides the money," one fan wrote.
"I mean I'm rooting for him but idk if we're really in need of another backup guard who's not a great shooter, I guess he's filling the Markelle Fultz spot from last year," another fan said.
Somebody said he would be used until the All-Star break, referring to McClung's performances in the Slam Dunk contest.
