Former Golden State Warriors teammates Steph Curry and Klay Thompson recently attended the same WNBA game. However, they sat on opposite sides of the court, leaving Warriors fans heartbroken to see the "Splash Brothers" split up.
After being drafted No. 11 by Golden State in the 2011 NBA draft, Thompson spent the first 13 years of his career alongside Curry. The duo helped guide the Warriors to four championships from 2015 to 2022. Along the way, they became nearly unanimously considered the league's greatest shooting backcourt ever.
However, after sustaining a torn left ACL and right Achilles in 2019 and 2020, Thompson's shooting efficiency and defensive capabilities began to drop off. While Golden State still won the 2022 title following Thompson's injuries, the franchise opted not to offer him the contract he sought this offseason.
The aging sharpshooter instead joined the Dallas Mavericks on a three-year, $50 million contract via a sign-and-trade deal in early July. Thus, he and Curry enter this upcoming season as adversaries for the first time in their illustrious careers.

Despite not sitting together, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson linked up at Aces-Liberty game
