Two-time NBA champion Vernon Maxwell recently took to social media to rant about a former Golden State Warriors guard. Vincent Askew owes Maxwell money. The two-time champion made everyone aware that Askew is actively asking around for money.

In Maxwell's video, he called his fellow NBA players and told them to watch out for Askew. Vernon and Vincent are in the same fraternity and the former Warriors guard did Maxwell wrong by borrowing $10,000 and not paying him back.

"I want all my NBA brothers to know one thing about this one n***a, that's in our fraternity," Maxwell ranted. "He a sucka a** n***a. He ain't s**t. If this n***a call you and ask you for any type of money, this n***a is lying. ... The n***a's name is Vincent Askew. Do not give that n***a f***ing dime. ... This n***a owe me $10,000.”

Looking back at Vernon Maxwell's NBA career

Vernon Maxwell is a former NBA player who played a total of 13 seasons in his career. Maxwell entered the draft in 1988 and was selected by the Denver Nuggets as the 47th pick. However, the Nuggets decided to trade him on the same night and sent him over to the San Antonio Spurs.

Maxwell's stint with the Spurs was short-lived as he only played one and a half seasons for them. Come his sophomore year, Vernon was traded to the Houston Rockets in the middle of the 1989-90 season. While he remained a role player throughout his stint with the Rockets, it was in Houston that the shooting guard found success.

Towards his final two seasons with the Rockets, Maxwell notched a couple of NBA championships in two consecutive years. This was during Hakeem Olajuwon's one and only MVP season. Despite Olajuwon being surrounded by role players at the time, the star center proved his greatness and carried his team to two straight title wins.

Aside from Vernon Maxwell, Olajuwon had legends like Kenny "The Jet" Smith, Sam Cassell, and Robert Horry by his side. However, they all played minor roles compared to Maxwell. However, it's worth noting that Clyde Drexler's arrival in their second championship run proved to play a pivotal factor in making back-to-back finals.

Vernon was arguably the third-best player in the Rockets squad from the 1993-94 and 1994-95 seasons. Looking at Maxwell's numbers, he averaged 13.6 points, 5.1 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game in their first championship-winning season. Then in the following year, he had similar numbers with 13.3 ppg, 4.3 apg, 2.6 rpg and 1.2 spg.
