NBA fans blasted Jayson Tatum after his recent take on Boston Celtics vs Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 2024 NBA champion is part of the Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics and his take wasn't well taken by NBA fans.
In an interview with Malike Andrews of ESPN, Jayson Tatum said that he would choose his championship team over the assembled Team USA in a one-game winner-take-all.
"You know when you win a championship, it gives you a little runway to say what you want to say, how you feel, so I am riding with the guys that I must played 10 months of basketball...I love this team but...I am taking us against whoever," said Tatum.
The comments didn't sit well with some of the fans on X, formerly known as "Twitter". Some fans roasted the Celtics star, saying that he was delusional.

Jayson Tatum gives his take on wearing his idol Kobe Bryant's Team USA jersey
Kobe Bryant touched many lives even when he stopped playing basketball. From Kyrie Irving to Devin Booker, the LA Lakers legend's impact is scattered across generations.
During his lifetime, Bryant donned the number 10 Team USA jersey. After the NBA legend, now it is one of his biggest fans who is going to wear Bryant's Team USA jersey number.
When asked about wearing Kobe's number, Jayson Tatum said he wasn't taking it for granted.
“Nothing short of an honor to be able to represent this uniform, wear no. 10. Anybody that remotely knows me knows how much influence that he had on me as a kid, inspired me to reach my goals, definitely isn’t something I’m taking for granted,” Tatum said.
Throughout his basketball career, Bryant represented Team USA in two (2008, and 2012) Olympics and won two gold medals. Bryant remained undefeated in his Team USA jersey. He went 36-0 in his 36 appearances for Team USA.
Unlike Bryant, Jayson Tatum doesn't hold the same place in front of veteran players like LeBron James and Steph Curry. However, he still remains a key part of the team's quest for a gold medal at the Paris Olympics later this month.
Moreover, it will be interesting to see how much the team uses him with the biggest stars of this generation on the roster.
