Reigning MVP Joel Embiid has been a shell of his former self this season. The All-Star big is battling for form after missing the first few games with injuries and a suspension.
Due to his exemption from the squad, the Philadelphia 76ers have had a chaotic start and sit at the bottom half of the Eastern Conference. After losing to the Clippers on Sunday, the side has a 3-13 win-loss record and fans have been vocal about their discontent.
Many took to X to voice their displeasure, with one fan believing it's time for Embiid to move on:
"It’s time to trade Embid! He’s nearing 30 or at 30 he’s cancerous in the locker room! Hes always not in good shape!….. A Team like Warriors, Minnesota, Memphis, Charlotte! Were he dosent have to be the man anymore," wrote a fan.

Philadelphia fans commented on a tweet by Hoops Central where Tyrese Maxey and Jared McCain are helping Embiid to his feet as they pointed out that's exactly what has transpired this season.
"This picture about sums it up," wrote one fan.
"That picture is poetic," commented another.
"Them two literally carrying Embiid," wrote a third.
While many pointed out how the Philly team relied on their young guns, a few others blamed it on Paul George's max contract:
"And the 76ers are only in year 1 of the Paul George contract," expressed one fan.
"16 games in and the PG contract has already completely tanked this franchise," remarked another.
Joel Embiid's horrendous start to the 2024-25 season
After suffering an injury during the Paris Olympics, reigning MVP Joel Embiid missed the start of the season and was suspended for three further games. The suspension was due to the star's altercation with a media member and was a sign of things to come.
Starting his first game of the season against the New York Knicks, Embiid scored 13 points on his return and had just three rebounds on the night. Furthermore, his reluctance to play back-to-back games due to injury concerns meant he sat out the next game against the Cavaliers which the fans didn't appreciate.
To make matters worse, the Philadelphia side lost the next two games and Embiid had little impact despite starting on both occasions. This run and the 7-footers' reluctance to play games finally reached a fever pitch after Philly's loss to the Miami Heat as Tyrese Maxey reportedly called out Embiid during a team meeting.
With the team's morale at an all-time low and the franchise being led by their youngest players, the situation is dire in Philadelphia. Despite the addition of Paul George, the team still lacks creativity and with Embiid's relationship with the fans and players in jeopardy, the 76ers will have to find a way to make things tick.
