In October, Bronny James made history as he played alongside his father, LeBron James, with the LA Lakers. On the tragic anniversary of one of the franchise's greatest talents, a heartwarming video of the rookie guard has gone viral.
Sunday marked five years since Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and others died in a helicopter crash in California. Years removed from this tragic accident, many continue to honor those who lost their lives that day.
An old video of Bronny resurfaced. The clip is from when he was a toddler talking with his father after a matchup with the Lakers. When LeBron asked him who he played against that night, Bronny quickly responded by saying Kobe's name.

Through the first half of his rookie season, Bronny has split his time between the NBA and the G League. He has primarily suited up for the South Bay Lakers to focus on his development in a low-pressure situation. Bronny has appeared in 10 G League games, averaging 16.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists.
While Bronny can regularly be spotted on the Lakers' bench, he mostly sees the floor during garbage time. The last time JJ Redick gave him playing time was on Thursday against the Boston Celtics, when he logged four minutes.
Bronny James starting to show flashes in the G-League
When Bronny James got drafted, there was a nepotism narrative hanging over his head. Following a lackluster freshman season at USC, many felt the Lakers only drafted him because he is the son of LeBron James.
However, Bronny has taken it in stride. Playing extended minutes in the G League, the young guard is proving that the team made the right decision to take a flier on him.
While Bronny came out of the gates slow, he has found his groove with the South Bay Lakers. Along with putting up some excellent numbers, he also has a solid highlight reel. In Friday's matchup with the Rip City Remix, Bronny made his best LeBron impression by throwing down a poster dunk.
It was one of many highlights from a dominant outing from Bronny. He recorded his second 30-point outing in the G League, notching a career-high 31 points.
As he navigates his first season in the NBA, Bronny is starting to show promise as a prospect. Taking over games in the G League is a big step for him as he tries to show the LA Lakers that he can be an everyday player for them down the line.
