Almost a week later, more details about James' tenure with South Bay have surfaced. On Wednesday's episode of "Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective," Brian Windhorst said he'll only play home games in the G League, among other things.

“He’s only going to play in the South Bay Lakers’ home games," Windhorst said. "He’s only going to kind of be a part-time G League player, and he’s not getting on United Airlines to fly to these road games. I know he’s getting somewhat special treatment and nepotism. ...

"On this particular instance, I think that’s gone too far, and I don’t think it benefits Bronny. I don’t think it benefits the South Bay Lakers, and I don’t think it benefits LeBron at this point."

How did Bronny James fare in G League debut?

Bronny James debuted in the G League on Saturday. He recorded six points, three rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes for the South Bay Lakers. He only shot 22.2% from the field and 100% from the free-throw line.

He's expected to split his time with South Bay and the LA Lakers, but his rookie season won't be normal. The Lakers (6-4) rank third in the Pacific Division, hoping to get on a roll and keep climbing spots in the Western Conference standings.
