Anthony Davis was not letting LeBron James fully enjoy his latest milestone as he broke Michael Jordan's 30-point game record on Friday against the Hawks. LeBron recorded his 563rd 30-point game to achieve the feat. However, he got there slower than Jordan.
Being a Chicago native who idolized Jordan, Davis roasted his co-star on breaking MJ's record in his 22nd season, while MJ did it in 15 seasons and fewer games.
"It bothers me, but took him 7 more seasons," Davis joked after the game.

AD's roast was similar to analyst Skip Bayless' take on the LeBron-MJ GOAT debate. Bayless also had the same opinion on the Lakers star breaking the 30-point game record.
"Phony GOAT," Bayless said on his podcast, "The Skip Bayless Show."
"LeBron James has now played 16,500 more minutes than Michael Jordan did. 16,500 and counting. If I divide those minutes by LeBron's career average of 38 minutes played per game, LeBron has played 434 more games than Jordan played."
While Bayless' argument was defensive and in favor of Michael Jordan because of his super fandom, Davis was joking and ensured he gave LeBron his flowers after another career milestone.
Davis reiterated that he had LeBron No. 1 because he grew up in his era and not MJ's.
LeBron James hails Michael Jordan after passing his idol in most career 30-point games
LeBron James has no issues admitting Michael Jordan is one of the greatest in his mind despite their fans constantly pitting them against each other in debates. After passing his idol's 30-point game record, LeBron hailed MJ, saying:
"Arguably one of the greatest to ever play the game. Someone I've idolized, you know, in my childhood, I wear 23 because of him."
It was a storybook ending to how LeBron broke the record after he hit one of Michael Jordan's patented fadeaway midrange shots to score his 30th point. LeBron called himself and Jordan "two masters of the craft" who have worked on their respective games and been efficient throughout their careers.
