Draymond Green's stock among the Golden State Warriors fanbase seems to be regressing. The veteran forward has been the backbone of the team's four championship runs in the past decade. However, Green, 34, hasn't had the same impact on the game since the 2022 championship win.
After missing seven games this season (eighth after Monday's clash between the Warriors and Celtics), there are growing concerns about his health, too. Green is dealing with a left calf injury. He returned on Saturday from a three-game absence but exited after three minutes.
Green was limping on the sidelines after coming out of the locker room. Warriors beat reporter Anthony Slater reported on Sunday that Green will miss some time over the next few days because of his latest injury setback.

The latest development had a few Warriors fans contemplating trading Draymond Green for younger talent.
"Trade that bum," one fan said.
"Draymond presence doesn't make much of a difference anymore," another said.
"Trade him for Zion," another said.
One fan suggested moving him for Jordan Poole, saying:
"Might as well be time to ship him off to Washington and get back our boy…"
"If he goes a lot of players will be willing to return," one fan added.
One fan predicted:
"Nobody’s taking him"
Draymond Green trade: Why it isn't such a bad idea
Trading Draymond Green would be a bold move for the Golden State Warriors. They would lose their second franchise legend in a short span after moving Klay Thompson last offseason via sign-and-trade. However, it might be the hour of the need. Steph Curry has mildly regressed over the past two seasons, while Green and Thompson had drastic drop-offs.
The Warriors created significant cap space after Thompson's $43.2 million salary was off their books, allowing them to spend on depth in free agency and via trades last summer. However, those moves haven't moved the needle as their biggest need is adding another star.
The Warriors remain adamant about retaining prospects and draft capital, which Steve Kerr, Draymond Green and Steph Curry are aligned with. If the Warriors intend to contend while growing internally, moving Green's $24,107,143 contract at the deadline, or his $25,892,857 in the 2025 offseason, would be the ideal way to upgrade the roster.
Green may not have the desired impact on the Warriors. But on a young team looking for a veteran presence and a defensive anchor, Green could be a solid fit, making a valuable trade asset despite his recent struggles.
