Former LA Lakers and LA Clippers guard Patrick Beverley shared his thoughts on the first days of Donald Trump's second mandate. Beverley took to social media to express his excitement about Trump's second era in office.
"Say what yall want but It Truly feels great being an American 🇺🇸 right now," he tweeted on Saturday.
After one of the most anticipated elections in years, Trump beat Democratic party candidate Kamala Harris to return to office after losing to Joe Biden in 2020. His candidacy and subsequent election raised plenty of eyebrows around the NBA world, with many players showing support for Harris.

Patrick Beverley isn't part of that group, though. The guard, who last played with the Milwaukee Bucks in the association, has made decisions that might go against what the general public believes is correct, such as going to play in Israel.
“Safety is important. If a bomb goes off, I’m gone,” Beverley said when explaining his decision to join Hapoel Tel-Aviv. “I haven’t got knowledge of any unsafe places in Tel Aviv now. My old teammate told me that in every apartment, there is a bomb room, and he used it to hang up clothes. He was there three or four months last season, and nothing happened,” he added.
After deciding to leave Israel, he's back commenting on NBA-related topics, including the criticism Jayson Tatum has received.
Patrick Beverley clapped back at Brandon Jennings over Jayson Tatum comments
Last week, Patrick Beverley was asked about Brandon Jennings' comments about Jayson Tatum, calling him the "softest Celtics superstar ever." Beverley disagreed with that on his podcast.
"Just because you can't see him yelling and you can't see his tattoos don't mean he's soft," Beverley said on the jabs from Brandon Jennings at Jayson Tatum, labeling the comments as a bad take.
"He doesn't look like the normal tough guy, doesn't mean that he's not tough. I mean, he gets it done. He literally gets it done," he added.
Even after winning the 2024 NBA championship with the Boston Celtics, Jayson Tatum is still under heavy scrutiny. The forward played at a high level during his team's championship run, leading them to big wins on the way to the Larry O'Brien trophy.
The Celtics remain one of the strongest teams in the league, with Tatum being considered an MVP candidate. The next few months will be crucial for his candidacy.
