Tyler Herro revealed the real reason behind his desire to be drafted by the Miami Heat instead of the Boston Celtics during his draft. The Heat star appeared on "The OGs" with longtime Miami forward Udonis Haslem, and he expressed his feelings before getting drafted.
Haslem asked Herro for his thoughts on getting drafted as a Heat, and the 2022 NBA Sixth Man of the Year expressed his story.
"I was a LeBron fan, big big LeBron fan," Herro said.

The Heat guard explained that he was a Miami fan before LeBron James decided to take his talents to South Beach, and when James came to the Heat, he was overwhelmed. He also revealed that he had a big Heat logo painted on a wall in his room.
Haslem then asked Tyler Herro about his experience on the draft night.
"When I seen like the number on the teams of where they were drafting and I see Miami was 13 like I was set on Miami months prior before the even draft," Herro said. "Celtics had the 14th pick they had already like guaranteed me the pick for the most part and then Miami took me right before at 13, so it was a blessing."
The Heat selected Herro as the 13th pick in the 2019 draft. He made his NBA debut on Oct. 23, 2019 and went on to make the 2020 NBA All-Rookie Second team.
Tyler Herro reflects on last season's playoff and his maturity in the NBA
During another segment of "The OGs," Tyler Herro reflected on his performance in last season's playoff and the maturity he has attained while playing in the NBA.
"Last year in the playoffs, I wasn't fully ready at the task at hand," Herro said (Timestamp: 29:07).
Haslem interrupted the Heat guard and highlighted that he was injured during the playoffs and that it was great for him to come off during an injury to contribute to his team. Herro accepted the fact and talked about his mental health going forward in the offseason.
"This summer having a lot of downtime just to reflect mentally on myself and just wanting to be a better person. I think coming into the year, I always try to be better than I was last year... This isn't my final form," Herro added.
Tyler Herro has been on a great run with the Heat this season. He is averaging 23.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game. The Heat (18-17) are the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference standings.
