In Sunday's game between the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets, Tyler Herro and Amen Thompson got into a heated altercation that saw both teams get involved. After a spirited comeback from Herro and the Heat, Thompson threw the young star to the ground, resulting in an incident that saw a total of six individuals ejected from the game.
On Tuesday, the NBA announced the suspensions and fines from the incident, with ESPN's Shams Charania relaying the information to fans on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"NBA suspensions for Heat-Rockets scuffle in Houston: Amen Thompson: 2 games, Terry Rozier: 1 game. Jalen Green fined $35,000, Tyler Herro $25,000, Ime Udoka $50,000."

Thompson will be eligible to return on Sunday, Jan. 5 when the Rockets take on the Lakers in a pivotal Western Conference showdown. On the flip side, Terry Rozier, who was hit with a one-game suspension, will be back in action on Thursday when the Heat collide with the Indiana Pacers.
In a post from the NBA Communications PR department, the league said that Herro sparked the incident by leaning on Thompson, which led to a retaliation and escalation from the Rockets guard.
"Just a physical game," - Tyler Herro reflects on Heat-Rockets altercation
Although it isn't every game that NBA fans are treated to bench-clearing brawls and physical altercations reminiscent of the 80s and 90s, Tyler Herro was unfazed by the altercation.
After the game, while speaking with members of the press in the Heat's locker room, Herro weighed in on the altercation, downplaying the situation as nothing more than a physical game between two competitors.
When asked about the situation, Herro told FanDuel SportsNetwork's Heat reporter that if he were in Thompson's shoes, he'd be mad too.
“Just two competitors going at it, playing basketball. Just a physical game. Guess that's what happens when someone is scoring, throwing dimes, doing the whole thing, so I'd get mad too."
So far, it doesn't appear that Amen Thompson has spoken publicly about the situation as he was unavailable for post-game media. Rockets coach Ime Udoka did speak with media after the game, however, saying that the two were getting in each other's faces and bumping chests prior to the altercation.
These two teams will play again on Mar. 21, wrapping up their regular season series. Unless both teams were to win their respective conferences and meet in the NBA Finals, the Mar. 21 showdown will be the final meeting of the season between the two teams.
