To say that this has been a tough season for the Philadelphia 76ers would be a bit of an understatement. They entered the season as potential NBA championship team, but injuries have prevented them from showcasing their full potential.

Nevertheless, that hasn't stopped Tyrese Maxey from having a good time. While things aren't always good on the court, they seem to be going just fine off of it.

That was evident again in an Instagram story he shared after beating his girlfriend, Myra Christina, on bowling, going as far as to call her 'garbage.' Then again, it didn't take long before his better half clapped back with a savvy response:

"I let you win," Christina replied when she re-posted the story.

Still, it wasn't even close, as Maxey took her down 120-87. So, either she had a rough time or is a great actor.

Tyrese Maxey's Sixers could give up on the season

Joel Embiid's constant injuries and Paul George also being banged up have derailed the Sixers' aspirations. Then, just when it seemed like Jared McCain was going to run away with Rookie of the Year honors, he also suffered a gruesome season-ending injury.

The Sixers are currently one spot behind the 10th-seeded Chicago Bulls, meaning they wouldn't even make the Play-In Tournament if the season ended today.

They're nine games below five hundred, and, as shown by Tim Bontemps of ESPN, they're about to endure a brutal stretch in their schedule. Notably, that could force them to change their plans for the season:

"Between now and the trade deadline, Philadelphia has 10 out of 11 games against teams .500 or better, and eight of those 11 games come as part of back-to-back sets," wrote Bontemps.
"And while sources said the team remained focused on maximizing this group's potential for this season, rather than maximizing its lottery odds, the next three weeks could easily see the 76ers change their tune."

It's hard to judge Nick Nurse this season, considering the hand that he was given. This team could've competed for a ring on paper, but they just couldn't stay healthy.

All in all, Maxey has been the lone bright spot for the team this season. He is averaging a career-best 26.0 points to go along with 3.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 2.1 steals, and 3.2 three-pointers per game on 42% from the floor and 33% from deep.
