UConn has five NCAA titles in the past 25 years
UConn might have cemented themselves as the most dominant collegiate program of the last 25 years. The Huskies won their fifth NCAA title since 1999 on Monday after beating the San Diego State Aztecs 76-59 at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
They won their first title in 1999 led by future NBA All-Star Richard Hamilton. In 2004, they were led by two more future NBA stars in Emeka Okafor and Ben Gordon. Another future NBA All-Star in Kemba Walker helped the Huskies win their third title in 2011.
As for the 2014 championship, Shabazz Napier might not have lasted in the NBA but did have a great collegiate career. With five titles in the last 25 years, UConn has more titles in that span than North Carolina and Duke.
