Victor Wembanyama is only at the beginning of his career but has already eclipsed some of the all-time basketball greats. The San Antonio Spurs star’s production has dwarfed that of league legends like LeBron James, Steph Curry and Shaquille O’Neal in their first 100 games.
The French center has more points than James, Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony aand more rebounds than Anthony Davis, Patrick Ewing and Joel Embiid. He has more blocks than O’Neal, Dikembe Mutombo and Hakeem Olajuwon, and more 3-point makes than Curry, Klay Thompson and Trae Young.
According to NBA.com, Wembanyama has reached 2,278 points, 1,053 rebounds, 386 assists, 366 blocks and 225 3-point makes. In the last 45 years, it's the seventh-most points scored by a player in his first 100 NBA games. He averages 22.7 points and 10.5 rebounds in his first 100 games.

He has also become the first player since Shaq to have an average of 20 points and 10 rebounds before turning 21. Wemby will celebrate his 21st birthday on Saturday.
Victor Wembanyama has also tallied the third-most blocks in their first 100 games, trailing only Manute Bol and David Robinson. In the 3-point department, Wemby has 25 more threes than Curry had after his 100th game.
Victor Wembanyama wants to embrace the craziness and instincts that come with his game
Victor Wembanyama is well aware of the unique impact he brings every time he's on the floor. Following the Spurs' win against the Nuggets, Wemby explained that he needs to embrace the innate instincts that come with his impactful seven-foot-three frame.
“I think I have to trust my instincts. ...I know the craziness happens by itself, and I don’t need to force it," Wemby said.
“What I need to force are the things that aren’t natural to me — some fundamentals, some adjustments to the opponents’ defense and things I still need to learn. … Once I’ve learned them, they’ll become natural. But it’s important to trust my instincts,” he added.
Victor Wembanyama is averaging a double-double this season, putting up 25.6 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. He's also shooting 19 shots per game on 48 percent shooting.
The Spurs have benefitted greatly from Wemby’s superstar rise, as they have risen to eighth in the Western Conference with an 18-16 record. With those numbers and team success, Wemby is expected to make it into this year's All-Star team in his second season.
