Video of Jimmer Fredette's groin injury treatment has NBA fans in splits: “Such a weird place to have an injury”

Jimmer Fredette suffered a groin injury in his game against Poland and the video of him getting medical help had fans in splits. Fredette suffered the injury while playing in the 3x3 Basketball game for the USA at the Paris Olympics and Joe Kinsey, senior editor at Outkick uploaded a video of him receiving medical treatment on X.

The video featured the medical supervisor checking the injury by rubbing Fredette's groin. Fans flooded the comments section, expressing their opinion on the video.

One fan highlighted the duality of suffering a groin injury:

"The groin is such a weird place to have an injury. You're gonna want them to help you but they're gonna be too close to your parts."

Many made jokes about the situation and the video:

Team USA suffered a second upset in the 3x3 basketball tournament. Poland beat them 19-17 as Jimmer Fredette missed a two-point shot that would have tied the game with 20 seconds left on the clock.

Jimmer Fredette has laced up his boots once again to represent the USA on the grandest international stage. This time, however, he is part of the 3x3 basketball team, alongside Kareem Maddox, Canyon Barry, and Dylan Travis.

Fredette and Team USA's ambitions for Olympic gold in the 3x3 are in serious jeopardy after a 0-2 start, having already lost to Serbia and Poland. They have almost no room for error in their matchups on Aug. 1, where they will take on Lithuania and then Latvia.

Jimmer last played for the New York Knicks in 2016 and is the only player on the Team USA 3x3 Basketball team who has played in the NBA. Fredette's NBA career was a rollercoaster ride with a lot of ups and downs. He was drafted by the Sacramento Kings and played for them for three years before being traded to the Chicago Bulls, where he stayed for only a single season.

The Pelicans acquired him after that but Fredette was released and was reacquired by the Westchester Knicks. After a decent performance with Westchester, the New York Knicks offered him a 10-day contract but did not sign him after that.

Fredette went to play in Shangai for the Shangai Sharks and dominated in the CBA averaging 40 points in his first three years. He was invited back to the NBA and played for the Phoenix Suns for two years. However, he was not re-signed after that and returned to the Shangai Sharks. In 2022, he was offered to be a mainstay on the 3x3 basketball roster for Team USA.
