Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis 'announces' bid to be President after Joe Biden backs out

Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis wants to become President of the United States. In 2021, he visited the White House and three years later, he has his eyes on its highest seat. The NBA player has thrown his name for the next POTUS. He announced it on Tuesday via his social media handle.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden officially withdrew his name from the POTUS race. Without wasting any time, the Bucks star hilariously took to his X, formerly known as "Twitter,” to announce his bid for the next POTUS.

“VOTE ME BOBBY POTUS FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! #UNDERDOG
“AND I APPROVE OF THIS MESSAGE,” Portis wrote and also put a US flag emoji.

Portis Jr. shared a photo of himself posing on the lectern, where the President of the United States typically delivers his speech. The photo appears to be from the Bucks' visit to the White House as NBA champions in 2021. Earlier in November 2021, the team released a picture of him with the message,

“Mayor of Milwaukee [to] WhiteHouse.”

According to Milwaukee Magazine, Bobby Portis Jr. is considered the “people’s champion” in the city.

After Biden announced that he was backing out of the race, he nominated Vice President Kamala Harris for the POTUS race from the Democratic Party.

Milwaukee Bucks star Bobby Portis Jr. partners with Educators Credit Union to spread financial literacy

Bobby Portis Jr.'s enormous heart is one of the reasons why he is so popular among Bucks fans. Last October, Courtney Bondar of "On Milwaukee" revealed that Bobby Portis has teamed with Educators Credit Union to help students in Wisconsin.

According to Bondar, the partnership will help the students in southern Wisconsin get free education about finances. It will also give students tools for financial education and community support. The program includes various educational tools, scholarships, workshops and webinars.

“The support that people throughout Wisconsin have given me means the world, so it was important that I partner with an organization that supports them,” Portis said, in the release.

He also added that he partnered with the Educators Credit Union because they both have the same goal: helping the community.
