Steph Curry has addressed the media about the Golden State Warriors' lack of trade activity leading up to the trade deadline. The Warriors hit a new low on Monday after losing 104-101 to the 9-31 Toronto Raptors. They are a game below .500 (19-20), reeling at 11th in the Western Conference standings.

The Warriors were one of the busiest teams in the offseason, filling out their depth by adding Buddy Hield, Kyle Anderson and De'Anthony Melton. They were one of the first teams to strike a major deal in the middle of the season after Melton went down with an injury. Golden State acted quickly and acquired one of the most coveted guards, Dennis Schroder.

However, none of the new additions have hit the ground running or, at least, sustained their performance after a breakout effort. Amid the team's slump and reluctancy to mortgage their future for win-now moves, Curry shared his honest thoughts after Monday's loss, saying:

"There’s a responsibility of keeping the franchise in a good space (long term), when it comes to when we leave this thing when we're done. Doesn't mean that you're not trying to get better. Doesn't mean that you're not active in any type of search."

Steph Curry said the situation has to make sense. The Warriors can't swing their assets around at every opportunity, but only for the ones that directly help them in getting better. He reiterated that it's how the Warriors front office has always worked.

Curry seemed patient, but he made his thoughts clear on the Warriors not skipping the right calls, as that is crucial in the team's hopes of staying relevant as a contender while also focusing on internal development with their younger players.
