The Golden State Warriors’ season has taken a downturn after a strong start. Steph Curry and his squad are currently holding on to a .500 record, but their performances over the past six weeks have been far from convincing. As the team stands, the Warriors appear ill-equipped to make a deep playoff run or compete for a championship.
Once at the top of the Western Conference standings earlier this season, Steve Kerr’s team has struggled and now sits in 10th place with a 19-19 record. With Steph Curry entering the twilight of his career, the Warriors' front office faces mounting pressure to strengthen the roster and provide the superstar point guard with the support needed to contend for another championship.
While several players have been linked to the Warriors ahead of the Feb. 7 trade deadline, one potential trade could significantly bolster their roster and improve their chances of success.

According to NBA insider Brett Siegel, the Golden State Warriors could potentially formulate a trade package to acquire Indiana Pacers star center Myles Turner, who is on a two-year, $40,903,500 contract. Siegel suggests that the Pacers might consider a deal centered around Moses Moody and Kevon Looney from the Warriors.
"I will say this about Myles Turner: If the Warriors were willing to move Moody, Looney, and a first here in some sort of package for Turner, Indy would surely give it some thought," Seigel tweeted. "I personally don't see it happening from either side though with this trade market."
Turner was in action during the Warriors' 108-96 loss against the Pacers on Friday. The Pacers center recorded 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and three blocks in 19 minutes.
Does a Myles Turner trade to Golden State Warriors make sense?
Myles Turner possesses the skill set to significantly enhance the Golden State Warriors’ dynamics. The 6-foot-11 center exemplifies the modern big man, unafraid to shoot from beyond the arc. This season, Turner is shooting a career-high 39.0% from 3-point range on 4.9 attempts per game.
His ability to stretch the floor would create additional space for Steph Curry to operate. Moreover, the Warriors desperately need a strong, physical presence in the paint to defend against dominant big men like Nikola Jokic and Anthony Davis.
Turner has the tools to hold his own against the league’s most physically imposing centers. A proven rim protector, he has twice led the NBA in blocks and is averaging 2.1 blocks per game this season.
From a broader perspective, Turner addresses multiple issues for the Warriors. At 28 years old and in his prime, he is delivering 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game. Acquiring Turner would also enable the Warriors to keep Draymond Green in his natural position at power forward, optimizing the team’s lineup and overall performance.
