The Golden State Warriors welcomed a familiar face at the Chase Center on Saturday night with the Washington Wizards in town. The Warriors have a short two-game homestand starting with a showdown against Jordan Poole and the six-win Wizards.
Poole was in the starting lineup along with Bub Carrington, Bilal Coulibaly, Kyle Kuzma and Alex Sarr. The Wizards were on an eight-game losing streak heading into tonight's game. They also owned the worst record in the NBA at 6-33.
Meanwhile, coach Steve Kerr got Draymond Green back after missing their previous game. The other starters were Steph Curry, Dennis Schroder, Andrew Wiggins and Trayce Jackson-Davis.
After an early scare from the Wizards, the Warriors pulled off a 122-114 win led by Wiggins' 31 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks. Curry had 26 points, five rebounds and six assists, while Dennis Schroder added 20 points.

Jordan Poole had a game-high 38 points in his return to the Chase Center, but it wasn't enough to snap the Washington Wizards' losing streak. Kyle Kuzma put up 22 points, six rebounds and four assists, while rookie Bub Carrington added 17 points and three assists.

Both teams struggled to make shots in the first quarter, except for Jordan Poole, who had an early party with eight points on 3-for-6 shooting. The Washington Wizards had the better energy at the end of the first 12 minutes, as well as a 29-25 lead.
In the second quarter, the Wizards continued their surprising momentum by pouncing on the Golden State Warriors. Poole went from hot to scorching, adding 15 more points to give his team a 60-53 at halftime. Curry has 13 points in 13 shots for Golden State.
In the third quarter, the Washington Wizards threatened to pull away by adding more to their lead. The Golden State Warriors kept themselves at bay and even regained the advantage midway through the period. The Warriors took a small 89-87 lead into the final quarter.
The game remained close until a late rally by the Warriors with three minutes left in regulation. Andrew Wiggins iced the game with a 3-point shot with under a minute remaining to give his team a 10-point advantage. Golden State ended up getting the 122-114 win over the very unpredictable Wizards.
It was Golden State's 21st win of the season, putting them in a tie with the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns due to their identical records. As for the Wizards, they have now lost 10 games in a row and could be on their way to the worst season in franchise history.
