The Washington Wizards will face the Golden State Warriors for the second time this season on Saturday, with the game taking place at Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

The Warriors (20-20) will be looking to build on their slender one-point win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Wizards (6-33) are in poor form as they won just one of their last 11 games. They will be desperate for a win to get out of that slump.

The Washington Wizards come into Saturday's clash with a the worst record in the league. Brian Keefe's team has won just six of their 39 games, and are the only team in the league yet to hit double-digits in the wins column.

The Washington Wizards have struggled on the road this season, winning only one game so far—defeating the Atlanta Hawks in the first week. They are currently on an eight-game losing streak and have a 1-9 record in their last 10 games.

The Wizards have been particularly weak defensively, giving up 122.8 points per game, the most in the NBA.

Offensively, Jordan Poole has been the key contributor for the team. The sixth-year shooting guard, who won a championship with the Warriors, leads the roster in points (21.4) and assists (4.8).

The Wizards will be without forwards Marvin Bagely III and Saddiq Bay due to injuries. Guard Malcolm Brogdon is also set to miss Saturday's game with a foot injury.

Golden State's 2024-25 campaign has been a tale of two halves. The Warriors got off to a flying start, winning 12 of their first 15 games. However, since Nov. 23, Steve Kerr's team has a 8-17 record and has struggled to find consistency on the offensive front.

The Golden State Warriors have a 20-20 record and sit just outside of the play-in positions. They trail the sixth-place Los Angeles Lakers by 2.5 games and the fifth-place Los Angeles Clippers by 3 games. The Warriors have a 5-5 record over their last 10 games and a 10-10 record at Chase Center.

Golden State is coming off a 116-115 road win against the Timberwolves, with Steph Curry once again leading the team. The two-time MVP finished with 31 points and recorded seven 3-pointers to help his team break a two-game losing streak. This season, Curry is averaging 22.9 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 6.2 apg and 1.2 spg.

The Warriors have injury issues of their own going into the game, with Kyle Anderson, Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski all sidelined. Draymond Green is listed as probable and will be a game-time decision.

The Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards have already met once this season, with Curry's impressive second-half performance leading the Warriors to a 125-112 victory.

Jordan Poole has been the primary scorer for the Wizards and the talented guard will be looking to make a splash when he returns to the Bay Area. Poole finished with a team-high 24 points the last time the two teams met, and should play a big role in what is expected to be a high scoring game. Look for Poole to surpass the 21.5 point total set for him.

Trayce Jackson-Davis has seen more minutes this season and the 6-foot-9 forward/center ranks second in the roster with 6.3 rpg. The Warriors big man finished with 15 rebounds in his last game and has secured 10 or more rebounds in five of his last 10 outings. However, his rebounds total is set at 11.5, which is high. Jackson-Davis will likely go under that total.

Washington Wizards vs Golden State Warriors prediction

The Wizards are giving up a ton of points and finding it difficult to score. The Warriors should be able to win this home game. However, the 13.5 spread is high.

The Golden State Warriors have not won a game by more than 14 since they defeated the Philadelphia 76ers on Jan. 2. They have achieved the feat just once since Nov. 20. Expect the Warriors to win, but not by more than 13.5 points.
