New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson made his return from injury during his team's match against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. The 284-pound forward marked his return from injury with a spectacular 360 windmill dunk as the Pelicans tried to better their 7-29 record.
Clutch Points shared a clip of the windmill dunk between the Western Conference rivals on X/Twitter:

Marking his return with a spectacular dunk in the third quarter of the game, Williamson's incredible effort was on full display. The former Duke star double-teamed Minnesota's Anthony Edwards, who was already being pursued by Dejounte Murray. After stealing the ball from Edwards, Zion charged down the court at full speed before taking flight and executing a stunning 360-degree windmill dunk.
Tuesday's matchup was his first game in over 27 games following Williamson's last appearance on Nov. 6 when he suited up during his team's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. After missing out on over two months of action, Zion Williamson marked his comeback with an explosive display.
Reportedly weighing around 330 pounds in 2021, Williamson has shed over 46 pounds since then and is currently at 284 pounds, according to multiple reports. The star's weight has been a huge concern and a cause for injury, with Williamson making sure to work on this issue during the off-season. While he is yet to start consistently this season, the Pelicans star will be hoping this is a sign of things to come as the season slowly moves forward.
Ja Morant sends message to draft classmate Zion Williamson on his injury return
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant took to X/Twitter on Tuesday as he shared a message for his draft classmate Zion Williamson.
The Grizzlies star, who has struggled to remain fit himself, expressed his solidarity with Williamson as he responded to his return with a three-word reaction:
"Zion back tonight," he wrote.
The two stars were a part of the 2019 NBA draft with Zion Williamson being selected with the No. 1 overall pick while Ja Morant followed him next being picked by Memphis with the No. 2 overall pick. Since then, the two stars have made two NBA All-Star appearances playing together during the 2023 All-Star weekend.
Despite dropping 22 points and collecting six rebounds, Zion Williamson was unable to help his team get the win on his return as the Timberwolves won 104-97 in the end. The Pelicans' record now stands at seven wins and 30 losses.
Williamson and Co. will look to bounce back when they host the Portland Trail Blazers next at Smoothie King Center on Wednesday.
