Bronny James, son of LA Lakers star forward LeBron James, made his return to action for Sierra Canyon on Wednesday night versus Notre Dame. Bronny had been sidelined with a knee injury since Jan. 18, missing a total of four games. However, he didn’t show many signs of rust in his return to action, finishing with a team-high 19 points in just three quarters.
Unfortunately, for James, his points didn’t end up translating into the win column. This came as his Trailblazers (20-7) got blown out by 27 points (88-61) by the Knights (20-8) in the Mission League playoff semifinal game.
However, the Trailblazers were at a disadvantage entering the game as they were without five-star junior Isaiah Elohim. Elohim missed the game due to an ankle injury he suffered during last Friday’s 66-62 loss to Notre Dame.

The Knights were led by Gonzaga signee Dusty Stromer, who finished with 21 points. Meanwhile, Duke commit Caleb Foster added 20 points.
Following their big win, the Knights will play in the Mission League finals on Friday against Harvard-Westlake. Notre Dame is also expected to be selected to participate in the Open Division of the CIF Southern Section playoffs.
What’s next for Bronny James and Sierra Canyon?
Following their loss to Notre Dame, Bronny James and Sierra Canyon’s future is somewhat in question. The Trailblazers have now lost three of their last five games. As a result, they will now have to wait and see if they are invited to the Southern Section's Open Division playoffs.
If Sierra Canyon ultimately misses the Open Division, it will reportedly mark their first time doing so since the division’s inception in 2014. However, even if they do miss it, they will still be participating in the Division 1 playoffs after finishing third in the Mission League.
