Watch: Draymond Green wants to be Secretary of Defense if Steph Curry decides to run for President

San Antonio Spurs v Golden State Warriors
Draymond Green and Steph Curry celebrate a play together

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green made a hilarious comment during the team's visit to the White House on Tuesday. While commenting upon the idea of Steph Curry running for President, Green suggested that he would want to be the Secretary of Defense if Curry were to be elected.

The 2022 NBA champion Golden State Warriors visited the White House on Tuesday. Given that each championship squad meets with the President of the United States after winning the title, the Warriors made their fourth trip to the White House.

While at the White House, Warriors superstar Steph Curry gave a press briefing speech. He gave an impressive speech that spanned his first trip to the White House and the impact sports had on uniting the people.

A huge part of his speech also displayed gratitude to President Biden and his staff for their efforts in bringing WNBA superstar Brittney Griner back from Russia. With a general sentiment of positivity, Steph carried himself quite well.

Warriors star Draymond Green also addressed Curry's speech later. While discussing it, he said:

"I thought Steph's speech was incredible. I think Steph- I think Steph can one day run for President. Like, what better person? Smart, put together, doesn't really make mistakes. Why not?"

Draymond continued to praise Steph as he highlighted his ability to take accountability and responsibility for his mistakes. At this point, a reporter asked about Green potentially being President. To this, he responded by saying:

"I don't know if anybody in this country wants me as President. Secretary of Defense though? There we go."

While hilariously alluding to his role as the defensive anchor on the Warriors' team, Draymond casually managed to redirect the flow of the conversation.

The Warriors may be celebrating their win from last season. However, this season has proven to be far more of a challenge. Currently sitting at .500 on the season, Golden State are far from being where they want to be as title contenders.

However, coming up against the Boston Celtics in Boston for their next matchup, Green and the Warriors will have to keep their wits about them.

Draymond Green can expect a warm welcome in Boston

The Boston Celtics are certainly a team the Golden State Warriors need to be wary of. Although they beat the Celtics in the Finals last season, the two teams are a lot different from what they used to be.

While the Warriors are struggling to stay afloat, the Celtics have set themselves apart as the leaders at the top of the East. Needless to say, a hostile atmosphere awaits the reigning champions.

Draymond Green, in particular, is likely to face a significant amount of hostility in Boston. The Warriors star infamously earned the hatred of Celtics fans during the Finals run. With fans spewing obscenities at him from every direction, the forward was unsurprisingly caught off guard.

Green has time and time again displayed the mental toughness that he is known for. After getting into a bit of a back-and-forth with Wizards fans in Washington, Draymond Green appears prepared to take on the beast in Boston.

In an interview with ESPN, Draymond Green mentioned that he would greet the hostility in Boston with a smile. In this regard, his presence of mind in this upcoming game will be essential for the Warriors.
