Denver Nuggets' Jamal Murray is ready to lead Canada against Team USA in their upcoming exhibition game in Las Vegas on Wednesday. Murray got some shots up during Tuesday's practice inside the UNLV Runnin' Rebels practice facility.
In a post shared by Justin Russo on X/Twitter, Murray was seen hitting corner 3s with ease. It's a great sign for Canada that one of its best shooters is in rhythm heading into their biggest game of training camp against the Americans.
Canada Basketball also shared their own Jamal Murray shooting reel on Instagram. Murray was initially dapped up by Houston Rockets' Dillon Brooks. He then swished two logo 3-pointers, which is another great sign ahead of the exhibition game.

Murray is coming off an injury-filled regular season for the Nuggets, playing just 59 out of the 82 games. He came alive in the postseason, but the Nuggets came up short in their championship defense. They lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference semifinals in seven games.
Despite the injuries and many minutes played in the NBA, Jamal Murray committed to playing for Canada in the 2024 Paris Olympics. He skipped the 2023 FIBA World Cup last summer although his teammates pushed through to win the bronze medal over Team USA.
Murray is not just looking to win the gold medal for his country, but he's also going to try and have fun in his first Olympic games. Canada has a lot of NBA talent on their roster and could give Team USA a proper challenge if they meet in the knockout rounds (via SportsNet Canada):
"Everything that my game has to offer. Hopefully a sense of calmness when I’m on the floor. Knowing what I did last time I played or had the leaf on my chest bringing back those days. ... Those were fun times playing against other countries. Like I said, it’s going to be a lot of fun to do it again," Murray said.
Jamal Murray, Denver Nuggets to work on extension after Olympics
One of the biggest questions for the Denver Nuggets this offseason was if they are willing to offer Jamal Murray a new deal. The Denver Post's Bennett Durando reported that the Nuggets and Murray are working on a four-year, $209 million contract extension.
Durando also explained that the two sides put the negotiations on hold as Murray prepares for the 2024 Paris Olympics. They are expected to resume talks after the summer games and there's no question that a new deal will likely get signed before the start of NBA training camp.
Murray has played his entire career with the Nuggets, helping them win the 2023 NBA championship. He's one of the best players to not be named an All-Star in the league and one of the best playoff performers at the moment.
