LeBron James and Bronny James created NBA history on Sunday night after taking to the floor together against the Phoenix Suns in the second quarter. Their first possession saw the father-son duo pick up the Suns full court side by side in what turned out as one of the most incredible moments in league history.

Here's the video of Bronny and LeBron sharing the floor shared by Sportkeeda's Mark Medina on X:

LeBron and Bronny played until the 7:51 mark. The latter, who was celebrating his 20th birthday, didn't have the best outings. He exited the game shortly after committing three turnovers and missing his only shot attempt from 3-point range.

Meanwhile, LeBron James was firing on all cylinders. The four-time MVP began the 22nd preseason of his career with a 19-point first half. LeBron also had six rebounds and four assists. He shot 8-of-12, including 2-of-3 from long range.

He didn't start the second half after logging in 16 minutes, calling it a night from his first preseason outing of the season.

LeBron James and Bronny James could share the floor together on opening night

LeBron James and Bronny James have probably given fans a preview of what could happen during the opening night of the 2024-25 NBA season. Sunday's minutes together are etched in history, but it was still an exhibition game at the end of the day.

However, that would be, in a way, an official way to acknowledge LeBron's greatness when he steps on the court together for a regular season game. Lakers coach JJ Redick has that on his mind and has some plans ready on how to lead up to that moment with the men of the hour themselves.

"In terms of that moment, yeah, we've talked about it and thought about it. We'll get it done," Redick told NBA insider Zach Lowe.
"I don't wanna commit to anything right now, but that's gonna happen ... Sooner rather than later," Redick said on "The Lowe Post" podcast on Sept. 24.

Bronny James is still expected to spend majority of his rookie season with the South Bay Lakers in the G League. He's the Lakers' first developmental prospect under Redick's tenure.

While his defense has been impressive, he still needs to find more consistency. Bronny's offense has been a bigger issue during the preseason, similar to the Summer League.
