Russell Westbrook may not be putting up the big numbers he did in his 2016-17 MVP season(31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game), but it is hard to question his work ethic and dedication as he prepares for his 17th NBA season. The 35-year-old's althleticism, speed and power make him a dangerous threat in the league.

With the NBA season just over a month away, Westbrook looks fit, healthy and ready to go. The Denver Nuggets guard is back in the gym and pulled off an incredibly difficult windmill dunk at the Summit indoor basketball facility in New York City.

Russ lobbed the ball to himself from behind the arc before catching it mid-air and executing a perfect windmill slam.

Despite having played in 1,284 NBA games, age does not seem to be a factor for the powerful well-built guard who appears to be stronger than ever.

Westbrook is a nine-time All-Star and led the NBA in scoring in 2015 and 2017. He was named the league MVP in 2017 after averaging a remarkable 31.6 points, 10.4 assists and 10.7 rebounds with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Last season, Westbrook featured in 68 games and averaged just 22.5 minutes per game for the Los Angeles Clippers. He will be keen to play a bigger role next season with the Nuggets.

A move to the Denver Nuggets this offseason provides Russell Westbrook with a chance at a fresh start. Westbrook agreed to a two-year, $6.8 million deal with Denver this offseason and will look to secure his first NBA title next season.

The Nuggets have built one of the most complete rosters in the league with a blend of veteran stars and young prospects. Three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic will be called on to lead the way once again. Jamal Murray is regarded as one of the most talented point guards in the Western Conference. Aaron Gordon provides a fast-paced, high-energy style of play that is required for any championship side.

The Nuggets won their first-ever NBA championship in 2023, defeating the Miami Heat. Last season, they made it all the way to the Western Conference semifinals. With the addition of Russell Westbrook, expect Michael Malone's side to once again make a deep playoff push as they look to secure the franchise's second title.
