Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors picked up their first road win of the season on Sunday night against the Houston Rockets.

The Warriors were led by veteran shooting guard Klay Thompson, who scored a season-high 41 points with 10 made 3-pointers. Curry also added 33 points, including a tough contested fadeaway three to put the Warriors up 126-117 with 34.2 seconds remaining.

Following the shot, Curry jumped around as he did his “Night-Night” celebration to signal that the game was over.

During his postgame interview, Steph Curry spoke about the shot and his reaction.

"That was just because I surprised myself with that shot," Curry said.
"More so the celebration when the clock was going down, we were running out the clock, me and Draymond (Green) put our hands above our heads like we really won something, just making fun of our slow start on the road."

Curry was then asked if he surprises himself often with the tough shots he makes.

"Yeah, because you don't really choreograph this stuff, you try to make reads and that one was just a Hail Mary-type situation to close it out."
"But I like to have fun, too."

Following the Warriors' 127-120 road win over Houston, Steph Curry was also asked about the Warriors ending their eight-game road losing streak.

“It didn’t sit well with us, our 0-8 record."
“We had to scratch and claw to get this one, so to get that monkey off your back and feel good about yourselves outside of the Chase Center, it matters."

Klay Thompson also spoke about how happy he was to break out of his shooting slump. Thompson shot 14-for-23 (60.9%) and 10-for-13 (76.9%) from three in the game. He entered the night shooting just 36.3% and 33.6% from three this season.

“It’s just something for me to build on,” Thompson said.
“I was really wanting a game like this, so it felt great for me to just let that thing fly."

Outside of his 33 points, Steph Curry also had a season-high 15 assists. This was one shy of his career-high of 16 assists, which he achieved twice in both 2013 and 2014.

Following the win, the Warriors improved to 8-9 and are 11th in the Western Conference. They have now won two games in a row and five of seven. Meanwhile, Houston dropped to 3-14, as they continue to sit at the bottom of the Western Conference.
