Watch: Steve Kerr takes a dig at Donald Trump by hitting him with Steph Curry's iconic 'Night Night' celebration during DNC

Steve Kerr had a mic drop moment when addressing the crowd present at the Democratic National Convention on Monday. The Golden State Warriors coach was back at the United Center in Chicago — a city where he played some clutch basketball to win be part of the Chicago Bulls' second three-peat. This time, the fierce critic of former POTUS Donald Trump made sure he gave the audience something to cheer for.

Ending his speech, he referenced his superstar Steph Curry's iconic celebration that left the crowd cheering and whooping as he mimicked the 'night night.' The move, though, saw the former Bulls star cop bouquets and brickbats in equal measure.

"After the results are tallied that night, we can in the words of Stephen Curry, we can tell Donald Trump... night night!"

Kerr has been fairly vocal about his political views even in the past. The Team USA coach has actively advocated gun control legislation. He also praised the Black Lives Matter movement. Meanwhile, Trump has taken shots at Steve Kerr as well, most notably after 76ers GM Daryl Morey’s praise of anti-government protests in Hong Kong in 2019.

Steve Kerr endorses Kamala Harris for President, has flowers for VP nominee Tim Walz

The same event also saw Steve Kerr endorse Kamala Harris to become the next POTUS and also praised her VP nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. He compared the Team USA gold medal efforts to that of Jarris and Walz's commitment and their leadership:

"I cannot think of a better metaphor of what this country is all about than how Team USA came together at the Olympics. We had players across our wonderful country… joining forces to wear the red, white and blue.
"The joy, the compassion and the commitment to our country that we saw at the Olympics is what Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have and what our country needs. Leadership. Real leadership. Not the kind that seeks to divide us, but the kind that recognizes and celebrates our common purpose."

On the season front, Steve Kerr will now look to lead a new-look Warriors to a title after the franchise lost cornerstone Klay Thompson in free agency to the Dallas Mavericks earlier this offseason. With Steph Curry still in his prime as showcased during the Olympics, it's interesting to see how the duo fare as the next season sees them as midfield leaders in a stacked Western Conference.
