WATCH: Tyler Herro has a forgettable attempt at a swing in Top Golf

The NBA is in the offseason right now with the athletes spending their spare time with either their families or on vacation, and Miami Heat star Tyler Herro is no different. The guard was recently spotted showcasing his skills at a Top Golf course.

An Instagram user with the username @wonderdidit posted a video of Herro showcasing his golfing skills on their Instagram story. Herro wore an orange jumpsuit paired with white sneakers and sunglasses. He also sported a new look as he had a buzz cut instead of his spikey hair from last season.

In the video, the Miami Heat guard adjusts the ball to get it into an optimal position before taking a swing. To his surprise, the ball travels toward the right in the air, revealing the guard's less-than-stellar golfing skills. He looks at the shot and moves his club to the ball ejector, waiting for another ball to arrive on the turf at his feet.

Herro is coming off a good season with the Miami Heat, as he averaged 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He was a crucial player in the playoffs against the eventual champions, the Boston Celtics, especially in the absence of Jimmy Butler. He scored 24 points for the Heat in the 111-101 triumph against the Celtics in their only win of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs series.

NBA analyst shares his honest opinion on Tyler Herro

NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith appeared on retired professional baller Udonis Haslem's podcast, "The OGs Show," and during his time there, the ESPN anchor talked about Herro and how the media views him for his service to the Heat.

"Tyler Herro can ball," Smith said. "So why are we always talking about somebody else coming on the Miami Heat? We wouldn't be talking more what Jimmy Butler needs to do or what more the Miami Heat needed if Tyler Herro brought his A-game every night. This is not a brother that can't play."

The Miami Heat had picked up Herro as the 13th overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft. Since then, he has become one of the franchise's leading scorers in the league, averaging 20.8 points last season. However, Smith argued that the young guard has yet to take the next step in his career.

Tyler Herro has had a history of disappearing on the stats sheet in important postseason games. The Heat have made it to the NBA Finals twice in the last five seasons but have failed to secure the big prize.
