Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra again opened up about his thoughts on the Jimmy Butler trade situation. This comes in the wake of Butler getting suspended for the third time as he walked out on the team's shootaround ahead of their game against the Orlando Magic on Monday.

During his pregame press conference, coach Erik Spoelstra discussed how he and the team are handling the ongoing drama regarding Butler and his trade demands.

"No, we didn’t even talk about anything today other than preparing for the Magic. I get it, what you guys all want right now. And I figured that's why this media room is full right now. We’re trying to quiet the noise. And we're just focusing on the task at hand."

Butler was set to return to the team after serving a two-game suspension for missing a team flight.

The Heat went 1-1 in Butler's absence, losing to the Milwaukee Bucks and beating the Brooklyn Nets.

Jimmy Butler suspended indefinitely

The Miami Heat announced on Monday that Jimmy Butler has once been again suspended. This is the third time this month that Butler has been suspended by the Heat.

According to Miami's announcement on X, formerly Twitter, this time around Butler will be suspended indefinitely without pay. The statement reads:

"The Miami Heat are suspending Jimmy Butler without pay effective immediately for an indefinite period to last no fewer than five games. The suspension is due to a continued pattern of disregard of team rules, engaging in conduct detrimental to the team and intentionally withholding services. This includes walking out of practice earlier today."

Per ESPN insider Shams Charania, Butler walked out after learning that he had been removed from the starting lineup for their game with the Magic; Haywood Highsmith was set to take his place.

Butler played three games after serving a seven-game ban at the start of January. He averaged 13 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in those games.

As of the time of this writing, there aren't any reports regarding a possible deal. However, with Jimmy Butler being suspended without pay, he might want to secure himself a new home sooner than later.
