"It was tough and it was confusing."

"Man, I remember that day I called you spoiled. He was like, I was wrong, we were in a sh*thole." Garcia said as per Cousins.
DeMarcus Cousins immediately remarked that he was not trying to throw any shade toward the Kings and was just sharing his experience. He affirmed that there are good and down times for a franchise and it was just unlucky that he joined the Kings during their downtime.
The Sacramento Kings drafted Cousins as the fifth overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft. During that time the franchise was going through a rebuilding phase on the management level. He spent seven years at the franchise during which he was named to the NBA All-Stars three times.
DeMarcus Cousins talks about his struggle to fit in the Warriors lineup
After his short one-year stint with the Pelicans in the 2017-18 season, DeMarcus Cousins signed a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors. In the latest episode of "The Draymond Green Show," Cousins talked about the challenges that came along with his joining and playing in Steve Kerr's tactics and lineups.
"It’s like, in that office, people think it’s just so free-flowing, but it takes a lot of IQ to play in that office, and your IQ never turns off," Cousins said (per Warriors Wire). "My mind is telling me, like, yeah, you can still do it, but my body's not on the same page."
DeMarcus Cousins had a mediocre season with the Warriors where he made it all the way to the NBA final only to lose the series in six games to a Kawhi Leonard led Toronto Raptors.
