The LA Lakers missed out on another free agent after the Golden State Warriors acquired Buddy Hield in a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers. Some Lakers fans do not seem to care and even took shots at Hield, who they have been linked to for a few years now.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Sixers agreed to send Hield to the Warriors in exchange for a second-round pick. Golden State will sign the sharpshooter to a two-year, $21 million contract with a partial guarantee for the third season.
Hield will essentially replace Klay Thompson's production from beyond the arc along with Steph Curry. The 31-year-old guard has led the league in 3-pointers made in the last five years ahead of Curry.

LA Lakers fans reacted to Buddy Hield joining the Golden State Warriors on social media. Some ripped apart Hield, who reportedly chose the Warriors over the Lakers because of the "opportunity to win."
"Good, we don't want him anyways," one fan claimed.
"Can we stop it already? Players can't handle the L.A. spotlight," another fan commented.
"Buddy Hield is a curse where he played for," a fan remarked.
The LA Lakers have plenty of depth, but did not make a lot of changes to their roster that were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. The Lakers added rookies Dalton Knecht and Bronny James, but they are not game-changers. The team always needs shooting and could have added one of the best available in the market.
"Remember playing for the Lakers ain't for everyone! It takes a special kind of beast to play under all those lights! Buddy couldn't handle those lights in Indiana in the playoffs! He's no Klay! So he know they ain't winning no chip in Golden State!" a fan wrote although he got the team wrong since Hield has only made the playoffs in Philly.
"Buddy is a downgrade. I wouldn't want to give up assets for Buddy with this roster," another Lakers fan commented.
"Enjoy never making the playoffs again," one fan remarked.
Buddy Hield chose Warriors over Lakers and Pistons
According to Shams Charania, Mark Puleo, Anthony Slater and Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic, Buddy Hield had offers from the LA Lakers and Detroit Pistons. However, a call from Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr swayed Hield to play in the Bay Area.
It also helped that the Bahamas National Basketball Team is coached by Warriors assistant coach Chris DeMarco, who certainly helped in persuading Hield to choose Golden State. The 31-year-old is currently in Valencia, Spain trying to help Bahamas win an Olympic spot.
Hield averaged 12.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game last season playing for the Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers. He shot 38.6% from beyond the arc and made 2.6 threes per game.
