Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry congratulated the newly formed Golden State Valkyries team in the WNBA. An expansion draft was held after Golden State formed their women's basketball team.
Being a long-time Golden State player in the NBA, Curry showed love to their WNBA counterpart.
"I just want to say congratulations to the innaugural 2025 [Golden State] Valkyries squad," Curry said. "Welcome to the Bay. My dad, Dell Curry, was an expansion draft member back in 1988 for the Charlotte Hornets. ... Welcome to the Bay, happy to have you. Let's get it."

The Bay Area has something to look forward to this coming 2025 WNBA season as the Golden State Valkyries are set to make their debut.
Golden State Warriors actively trying to form a new team around Steph Curry
Ever since Klay Thompson's departure, the Golden State Warriors officially ended the Splash Brothers era. With Steph Curry as the primary scorer and Draymond Green being the enforcer, the Warriors need a third star that could help the veteran duo.
Initially, it seemed Buddy Hield was the star they were looking for. Golden State started well and even led the Western Conference at one point this season. However, the Warriors lost all the momentum they built up in the last week and so. With that said, it seems that Golden State truly needs another star to help them stay consistent.
NBA insider Shams Charania reported that the Warriors are looking for a fitting Thompson replacement. They tried acquiring Lauri Markkanen from the Utah Jazz and Paul George, who was with the LA Clippers at the time, earlier this summer. However, they failed. Now with a 13-8 record, Charania reported that the organization is still actively shopping.
They could either get another star to help Steph Curry's offense. If not that, they could probably get another versatile big who could effectively assist both Curry and Draymond Green on both ends of the floor.
