What is Bronny James' NBA 2K25 rating? Closer look at Lakers rookie's overall score

LA Lakers rookie Bronny James recently had his NBA 2K25 rating leaked ahead of the Sep. 6 release of the game. On Aug. 16, Ronnie 2K took to X/Twitter, to share the top rookies in NBA 2K25. As fans noticed, Bronny James is among the lowest-rated rookies with a 68 overall, tied with several other rookies who all bottomed out at a 68 overall.

Along with Bronny James, Ajay Mitchell, who is on a two-way contract with the OKC Thunder, Nikola Djurisic who landed with the Hawks after being drafted by the Miami Heat and Cam Christie who was drafted by the LA Clippers all have 68 overall ratings as well.

So far, it's unclear as to how Bronny's ratings will be broken down, however, given his defensive abilities, and his athleticism, it seems likely that his best attributes will be physical categories and defensive categories.

To put Bronny's 68 overall rating in perspective, In NBA 2K24, the lowest-rated players in the entire game were rated as 67 overalls. Players such as Lester Quinones, Micah Potter and Xavier Moon, among a slew of other players all received 67 overall ratings.

Meanwhile, players like Ron Harper Jr, Olivier Sarr and Julian Champagnie were all rated as 68 overall, like Bronny James.

Looking at top-rated rookies in NBA 2K25 after Ronnie 2K revealed Bronny James' overall

Along with the lowest-rated rookies, such as Bronny James, Ronnie 2K also announced the top-rated rookies in NBA 2K25 in a separate graphic.

For example, No. 1 overall draft pick Zaccharie Risacher, who was selected by the Atlanta Hawks, and Alexandre Sarr, who was selected by the Washington Wizards, both have a 75 overall rating, making them the highest-rated rookies in the game.

From there, we have a three-way tie with Reed Sheppard (HOU), Stephon Castle (SAS), and Donovan Clingan (POR) all tied with 73 overall ratings in NBA 2K25.

Sitting just below the aforementioned players we have a five-way tie between Ron Holland II (DET), Rob Dillingham (MIN), Zach Edey (MEM), Matas Buzelis (CHI), and Nikola Topic (OKC) all tied with 72 overall ratings to start the season.

NBA 2K25 will release on Sep. 6, however, fans who preorder the game will have a chance at early access, allowing them to play 48 hours before the game officially releases.

Then, to start September, 2K will unveil the Season 1 pass, and the 2K Beats lineup of in-game music before early tip-off on Sep. 4 and the official release on Sep. 6.
