Charles Barkley has been told to stop making jokes about the women from San Antonio
At some point, the higher-ups at Turner Sports put an end to Charles Barkley's constant ridiculing of the women from the city of San Antonio.
During an interview with "Grant & Danny" at 106.7 The Fan, Barkley talked about being told to stop his running gag.
"If you crack a joke the wrong way, they're like, 'Oh, no, no, no, you crossed the line.'" Barkley said in the interview. "I mean, they won't even let me talk about San Antonio anymore when I'm always talking about their big ole women down in San Antonio."
Barkley said that the people who ran "Inside the NBA" asked him to stop after a woman wrote an article about him fat-shaming San Antonio women. He then shared his frustrations about not being able to joke about certain things.
"I'm like, 'First of all, I didn't call anybody personally fat in San Antonio. I was just joking around, and now this one lady wrote this article. ... So, y'all gonna let one lady, we've been having fun with this for probably 10, 15 years and when we go to San Antonio the people are having a blast with it.'" [starting at the 07:31 mark]
Barkley said people cannot have as much fun anymore today without someone trying to get them canceled. He shared his frustrations with cancel culture and reiterated once again that he was going to retire soon anyway.
Regardless of how he feels, Barkley can no longer go back to making jokes about the women of San Antonio.
