What did Devin Booker say about a potential signature shoe deal with Nike?

Devin Booker is a budding superstar in the NBA. He is a three-time All-Star who almost led the Phoenix Suns to a championship in 2021.

Booker is a longtime Nike athlete, known for wearing special editions of Kobe Bryant’s signature shoe line during games.

Will Booker be the next Nike athlete to receive his own signature shoe?

Nike is attempting to move their basketball department forward. Kyrie Irving is no longer with the company after a signature shoe line that lasted years and was a top seller.

LeBron James and Kevin Durant have their own lines but are aging superstars. Durant is now Booker’s teammate on the Suns.

Paul George has also had his own successful shoe with Nike. Giannis Antetokounmpo has his own shoe as well called “Zoom Freak." His shoe is on its fourth iteration.

Nike recently announced a signature shoe for young star Ja Morant. They also launched shoes for Luke Doncic and Zion Williamson under their Jordan Brand.

Veterans Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook also have signature deals with Jordan.

Booker hinted that he may be next.

“It would mean a lot. In that partnership, that brand is something I’ve had the highest respect for, for the longest time. We’re cooking things up, so the future’s gonna be exciting,” Booker told Kellan Olsan when asked about his own signature shoe.

Booker went on to say his favorite signature shoe ever was the Nike KD (Kevin Durant) 4.

Other players with signature shoes include James Harden, Damian Lillard, Trae Young, Donovan Mitchell, and Derrick Rose. All five have deals with Adidas.

Steph Curry has a long-running line with Under Armour. Joel Embiid also recently earned a signature shoe with the company.

Kawhi Leonard switched from Jordan Brand to New Balance to start his own signature shoe.

LaMelo Ball has his own shoe with Puma. Meanwhile, Klay Thompson and Gordon Hayward have signature shoes with Chinese company Anta.

CJ McCollum has a deal with Chinese company Li-Ning, while Aaron Gordon has a signature shoe with Chinese competitor 361.
