Drew Timme is one of the greatest players in Gonzaga history. He has played four years with the Bulldogs, leading them to one NCAA final appearance in 2021. He's also the Zags' all-time leading scorer after breaking Frank Burgess' record last month.
So, what is Timme studying at Gonzaga? The 22-year-old big man is pursuing a degree in sports management and is looking to complete his studies this year. Before committing to Gonzaga, Timme played high school basketball at J.J. Pearce in Richardson, Texas.
Timme has won multiple individual accolades during his time with the Bulldogs. He was named WCC All-Freshman Team in 2020 as a backup center. He won the Karl Malone Award in 2021 given to the best power forward in the nation. He's also a two-time second-team All-American, two-time WCC Player of the Year and a three-time All-WCC first-team.
Drew Timme had a career-year this season, averaging 21.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He was a consensus first-team All-American and was nominated for Player of the Year.
Will Drew Timme play in his fifth year?
Drew Timme might be a senior, but he's eligible to play in his fifth year for Gonzaga. The NCAA is giving players an extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic that forced the cancellation of 2020 March Madness.
However, Timme is not interested in exercising that option and is looking to end his career with the Bulldogs this season.
"I've done my four years," Timme told The Athletic's Seth Davis last month. "I'm a senior, and I'm moving on."
Will a lucrative NIL offer convince Timme to stay?
"Why don't we say $100 million?" he responded.
