The Milwaukee Bucks are locked in on Giannis Antetokounmpo as they've given him a massive payday witha contract extension. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported about this contract news on Monday after rumors about Giannis' contract negotiation circulated.
The Bucks have agreed to extend Giannis' stay with the team for another three years, amounting to $186 million. According to Wojnarowski, the contract extension includes a player option for the 2027-2028 season. The Greek Freak is still completing his five-year, supermax extension amounting to $228 million.
With his new deal, the Bucks are looking to become a larger threat to winning the title. Also, they have a star point guard, Damian Lillard, who could've encouraged Antetokounmpo to stay to try to win another title for the city of Milwaukee.

Last season, he averaged 31.1 points, 11.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists. With his production, the team finish atop the Eastern Conference standings. However, the Bucks were defeated by the eighth-seeded Miami Heat team in the first round of the playoffs.
That was the reason they let go of Mike Budenholzer, the coach who helped them win the 2021 NBA championship. Additionally, they got rid of Jrue Holiday in exchange for Damian Lillard during the offseason.

He explained that James' career is a blueprint for a ton of stars to follow.
"Some guys might say he is No. 2, but other guys like me," Giannis said, "I say he is No. 1, and he's still going.
"He's kind of like setting the blueprint for the rest of us to go forward. That's what I want. I want to be able to do what I do on the court consistently, be good, be healthy, be available for my team, be able to, you know, raise my family in a bubble away from what I do on the court for them to have a normal life as much as I can. Stay out of trouble."
