Bradley Beal did not suit up for the Phoenix Suns during their opening night matchup against the Golden State Warriors. Despite missing one of the members of their newly formed big three, the Suns were still able to come away with a narrow win over a shorthanded Warriors team.
Moving forward, the Suns' fans would like to see their newest big three be all healthy and take the court together. As such, many are wondering what exactly happened to Beal and when he might return to action.
Bradley Beal played in two of the Suns' five preseason games. His last appearance was against the Portland Trailblazers on October 16 where he dropped 11 points in 16 minutes of action.
After that, Beal reportedly tweaked his back. In an interview posted on CBS Sports, this is what the All-Star guard had to say.

"It's better. A little tweak last week. Definitely trending right and feeling better. Was able to practice last two days. So it's been good."
Beal also stated that he wanted to suit up for opening night but the injury kept him from doing so.
According to Shams Charania, the Phoenix Suns are being cautious with Beal. So, it makes sense for them to keep him sidelined if he is not at 100%.
A timeline for Bradley Beal's return has not yet been provided but the soonest that he can return is in their next game where they face the LA Lakers.
The Phoenix Suns prevailed despite Bradley Beal's absence
The Suns were able to hold on for a narrow victory under the leadership of Devin Booker who looked like he was used to being a team's facilitator. Booker ended the night with 32 points, 8 assists, and he also tacked on 6 rebounds.
Kevin Durant struggled to get anything going as he only made seven field goals out of the 22 attempts. But, the Suns had just enough to hold off the Warriors for a 108-104 victory.
The whole Suns squad struggled to take care of the ball as they turned it over 19 times but the Warriors failed to capitalize on their mistakes. The Suns were able to build a comfortable lead in the second quarter as they outscored their opponents 33-18 in that period.
However, the Warriors stormed right back to take the lead in the third. The game remained close throughout the final quarter but the Suns prevailed as they went on a few scoring runs for which Golden State had no answers.
It also certainly helped that the Warriors could barely get a shot to fall as their whole team only made 36 field goals out of 101 attempts.
