Bronny James has been out since Nov. 17 due to a heel injury. According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, he will be re-evaluated in one week.

The rookie last featured for the LA Lakers in an NBA game on Nov. 10 against the Toronto Raptors. He didn't record any stats.

Bronny James has been splitting his time with the Lakers and its G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. For the Lakers, he is averaging 0.7 ppg, 0.3 apg, 0.2 rpg and shooting just 16.7% from the floor. His performance in the G League has been better but still subpar. He is averaging 5.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 steals but is connecting on just 21.1% of his shots.

His participation in the G League stirred up a buzz on social media after it was reported that he would play in home games only. As the 55th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, the youngster has faced a lot of backlash and criticism about nepotism due to his father being LeBron James.

Barkley rips Lakers plan for Bronny James

Former NBA player turned sports analyst Charles Barkley didn't mince words when he appeared on the "Bettor Angle" podcast last Sunday to call out LeBron James and the Lakers organization for relegating Bronny to the G League.

"This thing where he's only gonna play home games? It's stupid. It's not fair to him. It's not fair to the team. Can you imagine the coach of that team? You come off a road trip and there's a player you ain't seen in a week or two. And then you feel like you probably gotta play him," Charles Barkley said.
"I don't think they're doing Bronny any favors and they just handled this thing really bad. It's a bad look for the Lakers and I honestly think. I really like everything LeBron's done, this is a bad look for him, in my opinion," Barkley added.

The Lakers were eliminated from the NBA Cup Friday by the Oklahoma City Thunder. They will hope to bounce back when they face the Utah Jazz next on Dec. 1.
