Brooklyn Nets' new addition, D'Angelo Russell, exited Saturday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers with an injury. The former LA Lakers point guard suffered a right shin contusion in the first half. Russell went to the locker room but didn't start the second. There's no information available on how he injured himself.
Russell played 14 minutes, tallying five points, four assists and two steals in his third game in Brooklyn since his return. He shot 1 of 4 from the floor. His only made shot came right after tipoff after he made a 3-pointer on the first possession.
The Nets started Tyrese Martin in the second half of the game. D'Lo joins his ex-Lakers teammate Maxwell Lewis on the injury list. On Wednesday, the sophomore wing suffered a broken fibula during his Brooklyn Nets debut.

Brooklyn faces an uphill task as, along with Russell, Ben Simmons, Cam Thomas, Cam Johnson and Trendon Watford are also out.
D'Angelo Russell has again been impressive in a Nets jersey
D'Angelo Russell returned to Brooklyn after five years, and not a lot has changed about his prowess in a Nets jersey. In his debut on Wednesday, Russell scored 22 points and eight assists, shooting 9 of 13, including 2 of 6 from 3. In the following game on Thursday, he had a rough shooting night, but with 11 points, 12 assists, and three assists, his contribution didn't go unnoticed.
Russell was bound to have another solid outing in Saturday's game if not for the injury. With several starters out, Brooklyn seemingly turned to D'Lo in the hopes of causing an upset against Philadelphia.
These are some solid reps for D'Angelo Russell, who could be on his way to another team before the trade deadline and most likely next offseason. The Nets are rebuilding and seemingly tanking to get the top pick in the draft.
It's almost a perfect situation for Russell to showcase his potential after a topsy-turvy tenure in LA to prove to other contenders that he is still a reliable point guard.
