According to TMZ, former NBA guard Delonte West, who spent several years alongside LeBron James in Cleveland, has been arrested. The arrest, which took place in Fairfax County, Virginia, is the latest in a long string of brushes with the law for West over the past few years.
According to TMZ, West was arrested on Nov. 2 on grounds of trespassing. The report also says that a person accused West of refusing to leave an area in Huntington that he was "banned" from.
The person who filed the report with Fulton County Police reportedly showed officers video footage to back up the claim. This led to police obtaining an arrest warrant for the former NBA guard that same day.
On the evening of Nov. 2, Fulton County Police located West near the Huntington train station and arrested him for misdemeanor trespassing. The following day, on Nov. 3, West posted a $1,000 bond and was released.

He is reportedly due back in court in January, where he could face up to a year in jail, or a fine of up to $2,500, according to Virginia Code § 18.2-119. As this section of law states, West's penalty will depend on the area where he was trespassing.
Looking at Delonte West's previous arrests following trespassing charge in Virginia
This isn't the first time Delonte West has been arrested this year. Over the summer, the former NBA guard was arrested in Fairfax County, Virginia, and hit with several misdemeanor charges for violating the conditions of his parole.
When police attempted to arrest him, West ran from the officers. When they caught up to him he was reportedly unresponsive. While he was eventually hit with a resisting arrest charge, he first received two doses of Narcan, a drug to reverse an overdose, and was transported to the hospital.
When he was released, he was taken to Fairfax County Detention Center. Given that he is a previous offender, he could face an uphill battle in his latest legal case.
NBA fans are well aware of Delonte West's struggles over the years, and how former Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban tried to help him get back on track. As he told Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay back in September:
“I thought we had him turned around. We sent him down to Jason Williams’ place in Florida … Then, Delonte throws his sh*t over the fence, disappears. We bring him back again, making progress, this is it, same sh*t. Only so much you can do.
“Mental illness is real. It is real, and you don’t just wish it away, just rehab it away.”
Since then, it sounds as though Delonte West has continued to struggle.
