Chicago Bulls fans had just enjoyed the return of point guard Lonzo Ball from a lengthy absence. However, it seems that his return has hit a speed bump as Ball suffered an injury during the Bulls' game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.

According to the report, Ball is dealing with a right wrist sprain, which means his current ailment is completely unrelated to the knee injuries that had kept him sidelined for two full seasons.

According to the report, Lonzo Ball's wrist injury will be re-evaluated in 10 days, which means that, at a minimum, he will miss the Bulls' next five games. These contests are against the Orlando Magic (Oct. 30), Brooklyn Nets (Nov. 1), Utah Jazz (Nov. 4), Dallas Mavericks (Nov. 6) and Minnesota Timberwolves (Nov. 7).

How Lonzo Ball fared on his return to action?

Before his return in the 2024-25 season, the last time Lonzo Ball saw action was on Jan. 14, 2022 against the Golden State Warriors. It was later revealed that he suffered a meniscus tear, which led to multiple surgeries and a lengthy rehab.

Fans waited for a long time for him to return, and, finally, they saw him take the court again this season. Ball played his first regular season game after his extended absence in the Chicago Bulls' season opener on Oct. 23 against the New Orleans Pelicans.

He was given a minutes restriction, registering five points, two rebounds and four assists in nearly 14 minutes of action as the Bulls lost 123-111.

The Bulls were set to play back-to-back games on Oct. 25 and 26 against the Milwaukee Bucks and OKC Thunder respectively. The coaching staff made the decision to rest Ball in the first half of both games as part of his injury management.

After a one-game rest, Ball played against the Thunder. He came off the bench once again, seeing over 15 minutes of playing time. He scored three points, grabbed five boards and had one assist as the Thunder dominated the Bulls in a 114-95 win.

After that, Lonzo Ball played against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday. His minutes were increased again, receiving 18 minutes of playing time. He scored six points, grabbed one rebound and dished the ball to an open teammate six times. The Bulls narrowly escaped the Grizzlies, coming away with a 126-123 victory.
