Kevin Durant enters his 18th NBA season while remaining one of the league's best scorers. In anticipation of the upcoming regular season, NBA 2K released each player's ratings and rankings for 2K25. The franchise developers face a challenge in providing a proper overall grade for each player.
So, what is Durant's NBA 2K25 rating? The Phoenix Suns superstar received a 94 overall rating, making him the ninth-best player in the video game. He has the same rating as Lakers forward Anthony Davis, who is in 10th place, while both are one spot below Celtics star Jayson Tatum.
During the release of 2K24, Durant was a 96 overall, while the highest he has ever received was a 97 overall in 2K19. His lowest rating was during his rookie year, where he was an 82.

Kevin Durant doesn't believe one dominant player should represent basketball
Several elite NBA players have legitimate arguments for being called the face of the league. A USA Today interview with Jeff Zillgitt revealed that previous USA Basketball managing director Jerry Colangelo envisioned Kevin Durant and Kevin Love as the future faces of the team when the two were starting with Team USA.
While Durant became one of the greatest to don the USA jersey, Love only played in the London 2012 Olympics. However, the NBA titlist remains adamant that he shouldn't be referred to as the face of the team.
"I never looked at basketball like that, just one face," Durant said, "one guy pushing the game forward. There's so many of us contributing to that. So many people that put their blood, sweat and tears into USAB for me to just say I'm the face of anything. ..."
His response is a testament to his humility and passion for the game of basketball. He understands the importance of numerous figures who have paved the way for the sport's legacy.
Kevin Durant talked about his love for playing international basketball
In the same USA Today interview, Durant highlighted what he enjoys most about representing his country in international competitions.
"The three-point line is shorter, and you play with more talent than anything," Durant said. "So, I don't have to do anything on the floor. You can conserve your energy and use it in different spots, get to travel around the world playing the game. And you're around the best coaches and players in the league. That's simply why I bring myself back every year ..."
It's an incredible accomplishment to be selected for a USA Basketball roster. Durant has quickly cemented his status as one of the best Team USA athletes to do it.
In the process, he has not forgotten to show appreciation for the perks that come along with the journey.
