The Utah Jazz are the hosts of this season's NBA All-Star Weekend and majority owner Ryan Smith is all hands-in to make this enjoyable. He's involved himself in the weekend as he's one of the team captains in the Ruffles Celebrity All-Star game, going against the team's minority owner and former NBA player, Dwyane Wade.
Smith has a net worth of $1.5 billion, most of which came from Qualtrics, an experience management company in Utah. In 2020, he purchased a majority stake in the Jazz, which also included Vivint Arena, the G-League team Salt Lake City Stars and the Salt Lake Bees, a minor league baseball team.
When asked about what the All-Star weekend meant to the city, Ryan Smith had this to say.
"This is really an important moment for our state to shine."

"It’s been 30 years. There’s probably 120,000 people coming into town, and we’re ready for it."
He's also the co-founder of Qualtrics and the company specializes in survey software used by websites around the world. Smith became close friends with Wade, which led to the former player buying a stake in the team.
Aside from being a smart businessman, he can also play basketball and just recently beat Wade in a three-point shootout.
