LA Lakers head coach JJ Redick gave an update on LeBron James' comeback to the lineup. James missed their matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. It was the first game he missed in the entire season.
While it didn't seem concerning at first, it appears that James is going to miss his second-straight game. The Lakers are set to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. According to injury reports, LeBron will miss the game due to a foot injury.
However, some sources reported that James was absent due to personal reasons. Coach JJ Redick was asked when the NBA icon will make his return to the Lakers lineup. Redick had a one-word response to the query, as he said "no."
Given the response, fans are worried about what could be happening to LeBron James. Many have shared their reactions on X, formerly Twitter. Here's what some said:

Can JJ Redick lead Lakers without LeBron James?
Since becoming the coach of the LA Lakers, all eyes have been on JJ Redick. Many believed that Redick would be the perfect coach that would help the Lakers finally get out of the rut they had been stuck in for a while. While everything seemed good during the first few games of the 2024-25 season, LA is now in a similar position as they were last season.
The Lakers have a 13-11 record and are in eighth place in the Western Conference. While fans are concerned that they might find themselves in the Play-In Tournament once again, what's more concerning is LeBron James' absence from the lineup.
With the 'King' currently out of the picture, Redick needs to work around the tools he has at the moment. Thankfully, Anthony Davis managed to keep himself healthy throughout the season. So far he has only missed one game. However, with James not in the lineup, there's a huge gap the rest of the Lakers roster needs to fill.
D'Angelo Russell and Rui Hachimura stepped up to the occasion and helped AD come up with a 107-98 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. If Russell and Hachimura can be consistent while James is gone, Redick should have the right tools to maintain or improve their placement in the West.
